Brązowy medal Mistrzostw Świata, Chiny 2017

Klaudia Hartmanis won historical medal form Poland during World Roller Games 2017 in Nanjing, China.

First time in history freestyle slalom was part of the World Roller Games. Over 60 countries and more than 4 000 skaters took part in this event in different disciplines like speed skating, aggressive, hockey, freestyle slalom, skateboarding, downhill and more.

After long trip with 2 layovers and little adventures (due to long queues in Guangzhou it was impossible to get to the next gate, therefore flight was missed and had to wait for another one) Klaudia made it to the chinese Nanjing.  It wasn’t her first trip to China, since 2011 regularly take part in Asian events, however it was first time to visit Nanjing. City is really beautiful so it was a please to discover it a little during free time.

Competition were held outside huge sports hall under the roof. Organizations have prepared special wooden floor but after trainings it appeared not the best for skating. It was really slippery and most of the skaters weren’t able to skate normally. Finally they decide to use the surface under wooden floor. This one wasn’t perfect neither but at least it wasn’t that slippery anymore. Our coach Klaudia Hartmanis took part in 2 disciplines classic and battle. She didn’t care too much about the floor and decided to focus on her runs. She used free time to implement some modification to adjust the runs to the floor and feel more confident. At first she took part in classic. Klaudia has prepared new classic performance especially for that event to the music  Lindsey Strling ft. ZZ Ward – Hold My Heart, which perfectly match to our coach’s skating style. Despite few mistakes Klaudia was satisfied with her run. After all Asian skaters were the strongest and our representant got 6th place (2nd amongst European Skaters 😉 )

Now was time to focus only on second discipline. Here it wasn’t easy neither and many skaters also made mistakes, but Klaudia decided not to give up and just do her best. Information about getting to the big final gave a lot of happiness and despite the fact it wasn’t new for Klaudia to be in final in this situation on such a huge event it was great motivation and gave some hope for high place. Klaudia did her best and was fighting till the last second. She did good runs and reached 3rd place in battle senior. It was incredible feeling to stand on the podium during World Championships in China.

“Taking part in World Roller Games was a honor for me and I am really happy to get medal for Poland” – says our coach.

In 2011 as first Polish skater gor medal at World Championships in Germany, and then she stood on podium at World Championships in China, Taiwan and twice in Thailand. Klaudia has in total 6 medals from World Champs and 7 from European.

Congratulations on such a huge success!!!

During that event another medal for Poland got also Amelia Brodka, who took 3rd place in skateboarding competition. Congratulations and we keep fingers crossed for successful starts at Olympic Games.
